camping hiking gear

I have a labrador retriever named Hank who loves to hit the hiking trails with me. Although most dogs are pretty self-sufficient and don't require a lot of camping hiking gear, it's nice to be able to bring along a few things just for him. Lately I've been checking out different online sites for camping hiking gear and I'm having a ball! I've found several sites which offer camping hiking gear designed specifically for our canine friends. I've gotten Hank a really cool water bowl which easily folds up so it can be put in a pack. I always bring plenty of water for us both, but carrying a stiff plastic bowl in my pack can really be a pain. I've also found a small backpack that is designed for a dog to wear, so that Hank can carry his own supplies. I put his new water bowl in there, along with some treats for quick energy along the trail, and of course, plenty of waste disposal bags. No one wants to find THAT on a hiking trail! So far we've only gone on day hikes with his new camping hiking gear, but I'm planning a camping trip before it gets too cold, and I'm sure his new gear will really come in handy!
